Shawn Sherlock has achieved A-list success during her multifaceted career but didn’t tap into her true passion until much later in her career journey. In fact, the former Captain of the Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks, and Prince Dancer had several successful careers after she stopped dancing professionally. She parlayed her on-air exposure and a Florida State University journalism degree into a promising career reporting the news for ABC, CBS and a CNN affiliate in Tampa, FL.
Shawn left the news grind 15 years ago and was recruited by her current employer LexisNexis. Today, Shawn is a passionate, high-level sales professional at LN who regularly exceeds her target sales goals.
In recent years, Shawn has overcome tremendous hurdles in her life and managed to do so with a positive and infectious attitude. In 2017, she nearly lost her life after a rare disorder put her in the hospital. Shortly after, she lost her niece to gun violence in the Parkland shootings. Those moments, and many others, taught Shawn to channel her grief into positive teaching moments for others who have shared similar journeys.
Shawn MC’s the LexisNexis sales conferences, does voice-over work for LN marketing pieces, speaks at women’s conferences and appears on local networks to talk about her experiences. Shawn is an avid volunteer in her free time. She is a long-time member of the Junior League of Boca Raton and has overseen the publication of a local youth magazine called "Spotlight Families For Kids." A proud mom and aunt, she has mentored countless individuals during her career, including nearly 2 dozen children in reporting and speaking on air. Shawn is also an advocate her niece’s foundation the Gina Rose Montalto Memorial Foundation.
